Here are some FAQ’s

What are your products and prices?

We have a variety of options and products. We offer CDs, traditional prints, birth announcements and more. We have something to fit every need and budget. Give us a call for pricing in your area.

Do you have any promotions or packages?

One of the most popular options is our Milestone Package. The Milestone Package features four sessions at a discounted rate in your home or at a local park that can be used within two years of purchase. Generally people with young children purchase this package, for that is when you see the most noticeable changes in the photos; the most common timing is for 3/6/9/12 months.

We also offers semi-annual “Pictures in the Park” events – condensed sessions at local parks that allow clients a quicker alternative to a traditional shoot. These sessions are very popular and fill up fast—so be sure to act quickly when dates are announced.

How do I prepare for my session?

You do not need to make any special arrangements to your home for your photo shoot. Our photographers are experienced in capturing the best setting and can find suitable areas to photograph in every home.

Newborn sessions should be scheduled within the first two weeks of life to truly capture that special time. Contact us before you are going to deliver so we are able to have a photographer ‘on-call’ and waiting for your bundle of joy to arrive. A content baby makes for the most beautiful photos so try to have your baby fed and changed. Life happens, so we certainly understand if we need to take a break for a feeding or changing! The same principles apply to older kids (and adults!); well fed and rested is always best.

We welcome any props you may have that add to the photo and help express your child’s personality. We want the real individual to shine through. Please discuss any specific thoughts and ideas with us before your session; we welcome your input!

What should we wear?

Dress up or dress down. You should wear whatever represents you. We recommend staying away from clothing with text, characters or images. Jewelry/accessories are fine as long as they aren’t distracting. For a group photo try to coordinate your clothes, but not necessarily match.

How long is a session?

Sessions can be booked for as short as 30 minutes or several hours (if doing a party or event). Each session is unique and we will work with you to ensure the appropriate amount of time is allocated.

Do you supply the props for the session?

Yes we supply all props, however if you have something special please feel free to bring it along.

If I book more than one shoot at the same time (e.g. maternity and newborn), can I order 1 digital package only and receive all of the images on one USB drive?

Yes we do offer a combined mini maternity and newborn session where you can include a handful of photos from your mini maternity session along with your newborn photos in one combined package of 20 photos. If you’d prefer more than a handful of maternity photos, I’d recommend booking separate sessions.

Are family photos included in your sessions?

Yes all of our sessions include family photos at no additional charge. I always encourage them but it is your choice whether to capture them as well.

My newborn is older than 2 weeks, should I book a baby session instead?

For babies under 3 months old, I’d still recommend booking a newborn session as it allows that extra time to capture sleepy poses if they fall asleep as well as time for feeding and comforting.

How many images do I receive in the Digital Package?

You’ll receive 20 photos and are supplied on a USB drive. For newborn sessions, we also include a cute little announcement video.

My newborn’s skin is blotchy or flaky, should I wait longer before having the photo shoot?

Most newborns don’t have great skin. We retouch the photos to remove any temporary blotchiness/flakiness or blemishes, jaundice, to ensure nice even skin tones. The sooner you have the newborn shoot, the easier it will be to capture some great peaceful poses.

What camera equipment do you use?

I use a Nikon D750 camera with a 24-70mm F2.8 lens. I use natural light 95% of the time, and on a dark stormy day or an evening shoot I use soft studio lighting (no flash). You won’t be able to tell the difference in the images whether natural light or studio lighting was used.
